Bio
A Texas native, Prater has been playing the guitar since he was in diapers and began singing at church as soon as they would let him on stage. His music is uniquely melodic and guitar focused, reminiscent of the great guitar trios from the 90’s.
“It’s rare to find an artist as developed as Luke who has been blessed with great vocals, is guitar savvy and can hold his own in a writing room at the ripe age of 23. We are thrilled to have him on board as the latest artist
to sign with FOUR17 Entertainment and look forward to a stellar career in the music industry.”
– Brandyn Steen
Prater first came onto the music scene in 2018 with the independent release of a self-titled EP that introduced fans to his authentic sound and style of delivering music. Since then, he has cut his teeth touring and playing upwards of 100 shows a year and has recently signed a management deal with FOUR17 Entertainment in Nashville. “To be able to work with someone like Brandyn Steen and the impressive roster of other talented artists at FOUR17 has been nothing short of a lifelong dream for me. Seeing the opportunities they have presented Curtis [Grimes], David [Adam Byrnes], Brandon [Rhyder] and others with has given me a whole new sense of possibility about what can be accomplished with the right team, and I could not be more excited to begin this journey with them,” Prater proclaims with excitement. Currently touring with fellow FOUR17 artist Curtis Grimes, who is coming off a recent #1 album, Prater shares, “It has been the best time of my entire life this year and has also given me an opportunity to share and showcase my music in a way that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. I’m grateful and thankful to God, Curtis and FOUR17 for that.” Although he is still fresh to the music scene, the country crooner has been honing his craft with the tenacity of a seasoned veteran for years and the possibilities for this young artist are endless.

"In the path to making it big in the Country Music scene, Texas native, Luke Prater remains true to his
small town roots. His new single, “Home,” combines the emotions felt enjoying the life out on the road as
an Artist while at the same time, missing his hometown. This single is easy to relate to no matter what
your occupation is; whether you’re having the time of our life or just missing the familiarity of your
normal family day to day, most of the time we all want just to be “Home.”"

"The Texas Music scene is full of great artists with songs that are full of depth and emotions that embody everything that makes country music great. Therefore, to really stand out and make an impact, an artist must be on top of their game when bringing a song to radio.
Since first bursting onto the scene in 2018, Luke Prater has been steadily building a very strong grassroots following while honing his craft and continuing to elevating his songwriting abilities.
Prater is now ready to take his music to the next level with the release of “The Right One,” his debut radio single which was co-written with uber-popular, Texas country artist Curtis Grimes.
With a gritty feel to his vocals, he tugs you into the heartbreaking mid-tempo as he weaves us through an emotional tale that sees him realizing now what he had, but it’s much too late because she’s already gone.
He uses the opening verse to lament on all the different aspects that define her: a wild one, a kind one, a fine one, etc. While he reveals in the second verse how hard she tried to hang on through the tough moments of their relationship, but more so how she eventually couldn’t and had to walk away – leaving him in the dust.
However, it’s the chorus that truly punches the heart of emotion when he turns his memories from the past to the present-day feelings that he’s experiencing in the aftermath of losing her as he sings of it feeling like getting hit with a dagger, how her leaving took him by complete surprise, and how confused he is by trying to dissect his hurt while pointing blame and questioning if she ever really was the right one.
Luke Prater has brought a tremendous effort to radio with “The Right One.” The catchy tempo pulls you into the song, his gritty voice encompasses all the right emotions of the lyrics as they wrap around you, and the listener is easily going to connect with this since it’s something that we’ve all experienced. I expect this one to rise the charts quickly and give Luke Prater his first Top 10 at Texas Radio."

"Luke Prater is an artist with strong vocals, a range of styles, and a true heart for what he does. Luke told us his passion started early on in life. “My main passion in music started with having a guitar in my hands from the time I could walk and that early interest and stable picking has allowed me to play full time for the last few years while the majority of the time, just my acoustic and myself.” Luke is a multitalented artist who takes part in ever part of his music. He takes on lead, acoustic, and harmonies in this project which was exactly how he wanted it. With the strong backing of Tyler Stephen Mccollum , I expect to see his name more and more in the future.
Luke Prater just released his newest ep “Runnin”. He starts off with the titled song that hits with a heavy country rock vibe which makes for a kickass song. The instrumental side of this track still keeps a red dirt vibe while having a little more rock push to it which starts this ep off great. The next song is an immediate favorite of mine in “Better Time”. The classic sound of this track mixed with the great lyrics really brings this one home for me. Lastly, Luke finishes this ep off with a blues kind of vibe. Another great jam that really shows that this guy can fire from all cylinder. What a talent Luke is and we are looking forward to hearing more."
